🐾 A Special Story for Our Youngest Bobcats ❤️🖤

Today, our new principal and former bobcat herself, Mrs. Reyes, shared The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn with our Kindergarten Jumpstart students.

In this heartwarming story, Chester Raccoon feels nervous about leaving home and starting school. His mother kisses the palm of his hand and reminds him that whenever he feels lonely or unsure, he can press his hand to his cheek and remember that her love is always with him.

Starting something new can bring many emotions: excitement, curiosity, nervousness and sometimes even a few tears. The Kissing Hand teaches children that it is okay to miss the people they love while also being brave enough to try new things. This simple strategy gives students a comforting reminder of home while helping them build confidence and independence at school.

We are so proud of our Kindergarten Jumpstart students for taking this exciting first step. These young Bobcats already have a spark for learning, and we cannot wait to help KINDLE their curiosity, confidence and love of school throughout the year.
