An Enchanted Fate

A quick little video of the dos-à-dos medieval blank spellbook I finished over the weekend! The dos-à-dos binding, French for “back to back” back, can be traced back to medieval times! Usually bound in leather (like this one!) 2 books are bound back to back, sharing one cover (in between them). I first saw this type of binding in Practical Magic, when Sally gets the ancient Spellbook, and flips it over to reveal a thinner book bound to the back looking for the spell to bring back her husband. (When she’s begging the aunts to bring him back, it makes me cry every time.) So far, this is the only one of its kind made for the but I will have other blank unique spellbooks, books, bags and jewelry as well! Look for my purple tent this Saturday, June 13, 11-7!
