CEO Sue Serna spoke three times this week at 3M's annual Media & Technology Governance Summit on (1) social listening, (2) taking great photos with your phone and (3) social media governance

From Sue: I want to highlight what 3M is doing here. THIS is what leadership in the social media governance space looks like, folks. As I told attendees this morning, many large companies do not yet emphasize governance of social (or other stuff) -- and they have opened themselves to a whole lot of risks. Many companies do not have governance policies or protocols, FTEs dedicated to governance work or leadership buyin that governance matters. Hosting an event like this one, making it an annual event, inviting internal stakeholders from all departments, including critical tool vendors in the conversation, asking other companies to learn along with 3Mers and having senior leaders show up in support... all of these are ways that 3M is a leader in the governance space. I certainly hope more companies will consider events like this one and putting governance on a front-and-center stage. It belongs there.
