When we stop listening, we stop learning. We stop evolving. And as time marches forward we are certain to be wrong.

The more our ego screams “I am right!” the longer it takes us to hear the quiet voices of truth that don’t simply echo the opinion of the consensus.

Every new idea begins as a contrarian opinion. These ideas are micro-revolutions. Everything from the invention of bicycles (which angered the pro-horse crowd) to hand washing before surgery (which angered macho surgeons) was laughed at and ridiculed.

My prayer is that we all take a moment to listen to each other. To really see and hear each other, to feel the emotions behind the words.

See when someone is actually saying “I am angry”, “I am scared”, “I am hurt,” no matter what the pixels display.

This leads to compassion, because we’ve all been angry, scared, or hurt. Compassion leads to unity, and unity is the destiny of the human race.

What is the human destiny? I believe the parable of Noah’s ark gives a clue. We are the only species with the power to protect as much life as possible (including human life) from the inevitable cataclysms of our Earth. This is not the job of a nation or a race; it can only be fulfilled by One people— listening, and coming together 💚❤️💛💙🤍🤎🖤💜

Looking back over my journey in this game called life, I have had many growth opportunities. Typically a breakdown initially followed along with addiction patterns. I have learned how to identify personal patterns, and I can get to the other side with a bit more eaze while releasing the need for the addiction.
Some of my biggest teachers have been Fear, Co-dependency, and feeling/ playing small.
