✨Happy Mineral Monday!✨💛
Today's featured mineral is Pyrite, often known as “Fool’s Gold”! 💎
With its metallic golden shine, pyrite is famous for being mistaken for real gold, but don’t be fooled. While it may not be gold, it’s still an incredible mineral in its own right, forming in beautiful cubic crystals and striking clusters.
The name pyrite comes from the Greek word “pyr,” meaning fire, because it can create sparks when struck against metal or rock. This fiery connection makes it one of the most historically interesting minerals, used even in early ignition tools.
