FGU Restored 15/16 All Original Wostenholm & Sons For Barber's Use Straight Razor

Wosty For Barber's Use are very rare, especially in this condition. I dismantled and restored all of the original components of this razor.
I restored this very heavy near wedge to a polished, machined finish following the original manufacturer grind marks. Like all my restorations, I kept the lines of the blade sharp and clean, which has maintained the esthetic of the razor. The excellent etching is intact on both the blade face and tang. It has a very thin bevel and it took an excellent edge. The original horn scales are straight and polished to a high shine. I finished the razor with the original lead wedge and brass beehive collars. Honed to 30k glass Shapton and stropped to shave ready.

**** SOLD **** FGU Restored 17/16 Wade & Butcher Celebrated For Barber's Use Straight Razor - 600USD

I restored this heavy quarter hollow to a polished finish following the original manufacturer grind marks. I only used very high grit abrasives to preserve the blade face etching. "Celebrated" FBU blades date back to the mid 19th century and those with intact blade face etching are hard to find. The width of the blade at its widest is a hair over 17/16 and it has a 1/4 inch plus wide spine. It took an excellent edge as do all Butcher razors. I restored the original buffalo horn scales and polished them to a high luster. I finished the razor with the original lead wedge and original brass beehive collars. Honed to H5+ JNAT and stropped to shave ready.

FGU Restored 8/8 Wade & Butchers For Barbers Use - 500USD

I restored this large, heavy near wedge to a polished machined finish following the original manufacturer grind marks. "Wade & Butcher For Barbers Use" blades with larger print were manufactured between 1840 & 1880. The tang stamp lettering is complete, deep, and clear, which is somewhat rare with these blades. The width of the blade at its widest is a hair short of 8/8. Like all my restorations, I kept the lines of the blade sharp and clean, which has maintained the esthetic of the razor. The blade faces are flat, square, and even. It has an extremely thin bevel and it took an excellent edge as do all Butchers. I made the polished scales from black G10. G10 is an extremely strong material and will last forever if not abused. I finished the razor with a polished black acrylic wedge and polished solid stainless steel triple stack collars. Honed to H5+ JNAT and stropped to shave ready.

***** SOLD ***** FGU Restored 13/16 W. Greaves & Sons WR Trademark Universally Approved - 250USD

I restored this heavy wedge to a polished machined finish following the original manufacturer grind marks. WR crown stamped blades are very rare and are among the earliest Greaves razors, which were manufactured between 1830 and 1837. The width of the blade at its widest is 13/16. Like all my restorations, I kept the lines of the blade sharp and clean, which has maintained the esthetic of the razor. I also ground the blade in a way to ensure the blade face stamp was not greatly affected. It has a very thin bevel and it took an excellent edge as do all Greaves razors. I straightened and restored the original buffalo horn scales and polished them to a high luster. They look fantastic. I finished the razor with the original polished lead wedge and original polished brass collars. Honed to H5+ JNAT and stropped to shave ready.
