Storytelling has the power to connect us, and that connection is at the heart of what the Rural Storytelling Toolkit hopes to provide.

Graduate student Brenden Kimpe and UND English Alum Kelly Kennedy are mentioned in a recent story about the Rural Storytelling toolkit, developed through a UND Connect grant. The toolkit helps students explore various aspects of journalism while strengthening their communication skills.

Conference Spotlight 📚

At the 2026 Comics Studies Society Conference at the Ohio State University, Justin Wigard and Md. Saber-e-Montaha both presented new research on comics and graphic narratives. Dr. Wigard hosted and participated in a roundtable on Digital Humanities and Comics Studies, and he also shared new research from his forthcoming book about Turok and Indigenous Futurisms.

Saber presented research on Jim Terry's graphic memoir Come Home, Indio as it connects with graphic medicine, trauma, and healing. Saber was also the recipient of a CSS Travel Award, and was named the newest Member-at-Large for the Graduate Student Caucus of CSS.
