We hate to say it, but cold nights are coming for the next TWO evenings—and we know that many gardens are just getting started for the season!

Here’s your quick PSA to protect your plants:

What to do:

• Cover anything with leaves or blossoms that was planted this season
• Pay extra attention to: hydrangea macrophylla, Japanese maples & perennials
• Bring in any annuals, hanging baskets, or potted plants, if possible
• If they’re already planted, cover them with a sheet, light blanket, or frost cloth overnight
• Cover ALL hydrangea macrophylla—even established ones in your landscape—to help save those blooms

A quick tip:

Avoid using plastic—it can trap moisture and cause damage if it touches the foliage. Even a Lavocat has made this mistake before (not naming any names though) 😬

We want to ensure your gardens are set-up for success this season and even a light frost can do some real damage (especially to fresh plantings) so a little extra attention over the next couple of nights will go a long way. 💚
