They look clean. They blend old and new. Just suit up, play tough, and win in them and that’s enough.

But hear me out…
I’m not even a huge baseball fan, and yet…
I honestly think Omaha could support Major League Baseball.
The key?
Don’t make it Omaha’s team.
Make it Nebraska’s team.
Introducing the Nebraska Meadowlarks.
* Play at an expanded Schwab Field with an upper deck.
* Black and gold colors that just so happen to also appeal to our “friends” across the river in Iowa.
* Draw fans from Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island, Kearney, Scottsbluff, Norfolk, North Platte, western Iowa, and beyond.
People say Omaha is too small for MLB.
Maybe.
But Green Bay is “too small” for the NFL, and yet the Packers belong to all of Wisconsin.
Why couldn’t the Meadowlarks belong to all of Nebraska?
Would we lose the Storm Chasers? Probably. But I still miss Rosenblatt. Once Rosenblatt was torn down and the Royals became the Golden Spikes and then the Storm Chasers, it just never quite felt the same.
And yes, we’d be another bird team.
Cardinals.
Orioles.
Blue Jays.
Why not the Meadowlarks?
