In 2018, I was Conducting Area Coordinator for the Oregon Bach Festival Composers Symposium. was there for the PNW premiere of his Piano Concerto No. 3. I sat in the hall watching rehearse, completely unaware that Mr. Glass had stepped into the hall and sat in the same row. I should've introduced myself. I didn't. Eight years later, I'm getting ready to give the Michigan premiere of his Piano Concerto No. 3. I doubt Mr. Glass will quietly appear at my performance.

Only 2 weeks away from this year's World Piano Day concert! This year's program is music for piano and string orchestra. We'll open the program with Gustav Holst's St. Paul's Suite. The last time I conducted it was with at when I was named the winner of the Respighi Prize in conducting. I'm so looking forward to revisiting this piece! Nine years ago told me he was starting a new student club at Notre Dame and needed a conductor. Six months later, Our Lady's Consort was fully running and giving its first performance in NYC to mark the 175th anniversary of the founding of . Leading this ensemble was the highlight of my 7-year association with ND.
To mark OLC's first performance and the 175th anniversary of ND, I wrote a piece based on the Constitution of the Congregation of Holy Cross - the religious community that founded the university. This recording is from our warm-up time in the church. We all woke up at 3am that morning to travel to NYC to finally have our rehearsal in the late afternoon. The feeling of the church ringing out with their voices is now a core memory. Ned - thanks for asking me to join this project. 💜
