June 1st marks the centennial of the deadly massacre and devastation of Black residents and their property in Tulsa Oklahoma’s Greenwood District , a prospering 40 block community known as Black Wall Street.

During the month of June Inheritance Development will feature photos of the homes and buildings of Greenwood when it was the pride of Black people across the U.S., who called it the Negro Wall Street, a testament to Black entrepreneurship, hard work and success.

These homes and businesses worth more than $500 million today were destroyed, robbing future generations of family wealth.

Tulsa, Oklahoma’s city leaders and citizens have been grappling with restitution efforts since 1921 for the destruction, led by a white mob, that killed hundreds, displaced thousands, and destroyed what was once a thriving center of Black business.
