If i ever meet the designer/ architect who thought this was a good idea, i have a few words for them.
The crappy part is this is just one of 2 places (left AND right of the entry) that this was done.
Can't wait to show you how we addressed this on this full exterior remodel.
Most change orders aren't "surprises", they're decisions that should've been made before construction.
Materials that weren't specified, vague scope details, or incorrect assumptions - when these conversations get skipped, the cost always shows up later.
Change orders should be the exception, not the business model. Great projects are built long before day 1 of construction - with clear scope, intentional decisions, and real planning.
The better the preconstruction process, the fewer change orders later.
