Friday morning I joined my Lake County government colleagues for annual BIG event. Lake County is thriving and an excellent location to live, work and play due to the collaboration of the government, private and public sectors. Congratulations to on being recognized for their workforce pipeline educational programming.

El viernes por la mañana me uní a mis colegas del gobierno del Condado de Lake para el evento anual BIG de Lake County Partners. El Condado de Lake está prosperando y es un excelente lugar para vivir, trabajar y disfrutar gracias a la colaboración entre los sectores gubernamental, privado y público. Felicitaciones al College de Lake County por ser reconocidos por su programación educativa de desarrollo de la fuerza laboral.

Congratulations to Daniel Didech and his slate on becoming the new executive leadership of the Lake County Democratic Party! This marks a new beginning for our local party and I’m excited of what’s to come. I am also thankful for our outgoing board and outgoing chair, Lauren Beth Gash, who laid the groundwork for many years.

A great end to the work week with the Waukegan Township Democrats at their annual bowling fundraiser! I had a great time catching up with friends, old and new, as we gear up for November.

Shortly before 11 p.m. last night, our girl Skye crossed the rainbow bridge. Her condition deteriorated quickly but she spent her last few hours at home and with her siblings.

She was the queen of our house and her passing has left a tremendous hole. Always stubborn and always keeping us and her siblings on our toes, she brought us so much joy.

Skye, thank you for choosing us, for all the memories and for all the love. Run free and hunt all the squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits you desire 🌈 🕊️ 🌈 🕊️
