Falconry has a long history and remains a fascinating pastime -- it's no longer the "sport of kings", at least not exclusively! This event will include falconry demonstrations from several local falconers and their birds with an explanation of falconry practices, equipment, and the history of this sport.

Come and join us on March 4th!

We have many people and organizations to thank for their support in making the dig a success. Our efforts would not have come to fruition without support from the administration of Kentucky Christian University, the Carter County Historical Society, and a grant from the Foundation for the Tri-State Community. The generosity of Dr. John Wineland, RPA, with his time and expertise is also enormously appreciated by the department.

We'd also like to thank our student participants and community volunteers who put in a gargantuan effort over four days. The Ashland Area Tool Library deserves a note of thanks as well for lending us most of the hand tools for the dig free of charge.

Enjoy this clip from WSAZ showing a small glimpse of what we were doing!
