If ten years ago you had asked me how I’d measure success, my answer probably would’ve sounded different.

Income.
Growth.
Recognition.
Achievement.
But today? A regulated nervous system sits at the top of my list.

Can I wake up without immediately feeling behind?
Can I make decisions from clarity instead of urgency?
Can I stay present in difficult conversations?
Can I celebrate someone else’s success without making it mean less is available for me?
Can I build a business that energizes me more often than it depletes me?
Can I rest without feeling guilty?

Those are the metrics that tell me my life is actually working.

Don’t get me wrong. I still have goals.
I still want to grow. I still want to create meaningful work and make a significant impact.

But I’ve learned that achievement isn’t nearly as fulfilling when your nervous system is paying the price for it.

The most sustainable success is the kind your body can actually live inside.

That’s the life I’m interested in creating.

How about you?

With love,

When I’m feeling off, disconnected, or not quite like myself, I’ve noticed something interesting.

The answer usually isn’t to withdraw from the world.
It’s to reconnect with what is uniquely mine to contribute.
To mentor.
To encourage.
To create.
To teach.

To have the conversation that only I can have.
To offer the perspective that only I can offer.

Because here’s what I’ve learned:

Your gifts don’t just impact other people.
They remind you who you are.
There’s something incredibly regulating about stepping back into your purpose.
About sharing your wisdom.
Your generosity.
Your creativity.
Your presence.

Not because you need to earn your worth.
But because expressing your gifts reconnects you to it.

So if you’ve been feeling a little unlike yourself lately, ask a different question.

Instead of:

“What’s wrong with me?”
Try asking:
“What is mine to give today?”

It doesn’t have to be big.
A thoughtful message.
A kind word.
A moment of mentorship.
A creative idea.
An act of generosity.

Sometimes the quickest way back to yourself isn’t through more thinking.
It’s through sharing what already lives within you.
Because your gifts aren’t just for the world.
They’re part of how you come home to yourself.

With love,

Dr. V xo
