We threw quite the party Wednesday & our ❤️s are SO full!! What started as love at first sight with a quaint cobblestone on a beautiful plot of land embarked us on a 2 year journey with many twists & turns only a 1800 house could take you on😉 We set our eyes on this beauty 2 years ago in October. 1 year year later we closed on this historic home…and Wednesday we officially opened our doors with a ribbon cutting ceremony with 50 of our closest family & friends. We have poured our hearts and souls into this property and it has been quite the labor of love. Not only we’re we able to introduce Upstate Roots Design, we were also able to showcase the start of roots collection Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your support!!!

Meg & I are on a ✈️ and out of office!! We are heading to Tampa Florida to attend the much anticipated 1st The Staging Collective Event. We will be surrounded by elite Staging Companies across the the country - Networking, Collaborating, and Learning ALL the things. We are excited to come back with more knowledge on how to help our clients and provide even more exceptional services when it comes to staging and design.

It’s October 1st- Say what?! In the spirit of October my daughter and I were busy yesterday making a fall tablescape!! One of the items it included were these corn stalk pumpkins. Pretty Easy and I do not have a lot of patience when it comes to crafts so ours were far from perfect and still awesome! They are green now but will turn brown soon when the stalk leaves die…
✔️ any old pumpkin your hanging onto that you no longer like OR anything round. Mine were ugly ones I probably got from the dollar store years ago. I actually just googled too and found people have done them with the green floral foam and you just cut to the size you want!
✔️ a corn stock where you take the leaves off and the tassel part at the top
✔️ glue gun
That’s it! Mine was an older styrofoam type pumpkin so a couple years ago I cut a whole in it to put a tapered candle into it for decoration so that is an extra add on you can do as well if you choose! If you don’t use an old pumpkin you can pick some sticks for the stem and glue those on.
I also use cornstalks on my dining room ladder chandelier. I understand everyone does not have an old school ladder chandelier hanging in their home 😂 but the stalks are so versatile and can be used so many places inside vs outside. You can use them on fireplace mantles, the top of window treatments, as indoor wreaths etc. to give your home some fall flair 🎃 🍁
