A couple weeks ago, I headed to Washington Island for a little adventure, some quiet, and just to touch nature for a minute.

While I was there, I stopped at this little ice cream shop to grab a sweet treat for myself and Miska, our project manager, and I saw this sign. And it took me right back home to Tennessee.

Down South, we don’t always move fast. But we do move with intention. And honestly, this last season has taught me a lot about that.

There have been a few moments where things didn’t go how we planned. One thing shifted, then another, and before we knew it, we were feeling the ripple effect.

That’s real life. That’s business. That’s being human. And I’ll be honest, it made me slow down and take a good hard look at how we’re doing things, what needed to be cleaned up, and what kind of business I actually want to keep building. Because faster doesn’t always mean better.

Sometimes better means slowing down enough to get your systems right.
Sometimes it means having harder conversations.
Sometimes it means tightening up the way you communicate.
Sometimes it means learning where your boundaries need to be a little stronger. And sometimes it means remembering where you come from.

I’m from the South. We take our time. We pay attention. We care about the details. And we believe if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing right.

So yeah, we’re still learning. Still growing. Still getting better.

And to the clients who have been patient with us, trusted us, and given us the room to grow through a few learning curves, thank you. 🙏🏻
