Camp Tekakwitha officially kicked off its 100th summer with an open house, a special anniversary Mass celebrated by Bishop David Ricken, and a day dedicated to honoring the generations of campers and staff who have called camp home.

In his magazine column, Bishop Ricken reflected on taking trips and fueling for the journey.

"Through our Baptism and Confirmation, every single Catholic (and Christian) is called to a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to share him with others. But sometimes we try to undertake this journey without the β€œfuel” we need to make it happen. What is the fuel needed to foster an intimate relationship with Jesus and to have the power to go out and share him with others? Can’t I just do these things on my own?"

Fr. Carr's Place 2B held the fourth annual Carnival for Kids! πŸŽ‰πŸŽˆπŸͺ…

The carnival included carnival rides, obstacle courses, climbing walls, face painting, games and food.

β€œSome families may never see Disney World or Great America,” said Jim Boehm, executive director of Fr. Carr's Place 2B. β€œBut they still deserve to have fun. They deserve to ride a Ferris wheel, climb a climbing wall, get their face painted and just enjoy being a family together.”

In his Narrow the Road column in the On Mission magazine, Fr. Girotti shares that he remembers walking through the woods with his dad. On one particular day, he and his dad stumbled upon the ruins of an old insane asylum.

As Fr. Girotti reflects on the asylum and the advancements of psychology and modern medicine, he shares that there is still a stigma around mental health.

"That troubling image from a walk with my father on a summer evening many years ago reminds me that we have a long way to go."
