Another meaningful stop on our Good Neighbor Bus Tour highlighted a collaboration that is truly unique to Brown County.

Glen Tilot of Friends of PALS shared how Friends of PALS partnered with NeighborWorks Green Bay, Brown County Children, Youth & Families, and many community supporters to help create safe, stable environments for children and families facing difficult circumstances.

What makes this partnership especially unique is that NeighborWorks Green Bay owns the building that houses the Brown County Family Center, while Friends of PALS led fundraising efforts to expand and enhance the facility to better serve families. Together, these organizations have created a welcoming space dedicated to supporting children and strengthening family connections.

A key part of that work is the Brown County Family Center—a safe, welcoming, home-like setting where children and parents can spend time together. The Family Center provides a secure environment where families can maintain connections and work toward positive outcomes.

The center is much more than a building. It is a place of hope, healing, and opportunity for families navigating challenging circumstances.

Thanks to the vision and commitment of Friends of PALS and its many partners, Brown County has developed a model that supports children and families in a compassionate and meaningful way. This collaboration demonstrates what is possible when nonprofit organizations, government agencies, volunteers, and community members work together to meet critical needs.
