PSA: maintain a tight inventory of all the locations online where you might have a user account or your email might be on display. Do not use the same password across multiple venues. A client of mine had their email account compromised, via which the hackers managed to dupe their money managers into transferring funds to a random account. After a lot of detective work, we figured out that not only did the hackers gain direct access to my client's email, they also covered their tracks by deleting all their sent mail from the Sent folder. I checked the trash archive for recently deleted items, and there the emails were. My client was completely unaware this email exchange was occurring under their very nose.

Be careful, be alert, and keep a close eye on your virtual footprint!
