Many pets associate car rides with stressful experiences, which is why we recommend “practice rides” before long trips whenever possible. A quick drive around town followed by treats, praise, or a fun destination can help your pet feel more relaxed and confident over time. 💙

And before you head out on your summer adventure, don’t forget to pack:
✔️ Extra food and water
✔️ Medications
✔️ Updated ID tags
✔️ A leash or carrier
✔️ Their favorite blanket or toy

A little preparation can make a huge difference in helping your pet travel safely and comfortably.

Meet Dr. Ben Kelley! 🐾💙

We’re so excited to officially welcome Dr. Kelley to the Riverside Vet family!

Dr. Kelley’s love for animals started early — inspired by Steve Irwin, a childhood full of pets, and plenty of time working as a barn hand caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. That passion eventually led him to Clemson University and then to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated Cum Laude.

But what really makes Dr. Kelley special is his heart for the people behind the pets.

He believes great veterinary medicine is about more than treatment plans and diagnostics. It’s about building relationships, educating pet owners, and helping families feel confident and supported every step of the way.

At home, Dr. Kelley is kept entertained by his two five-year-old cats:
🐱 Cleo — a sassy tortoiseshell queen
🐱 Gus — a sweet and classic orange boy

When he’s not at the clinic, you’ll probably find him cooking, reading, watching football, playing video games, or diving into his love of history and paleontology.

We can’t wait for the Greer community to get to know Dr. Kelley and experience the compassionate, relationship-centered care he brings to Riverside Vet. ❤️
