It’s more than driving – it’s about living! The primary emphasis of Tire Rack Street Survival is a “hands-on” driving experience in real-world situations!

All smiles from the Coaches and Volunteers in the Indy Region SCCA at last years school. They are up this weekend!

Greetings Heroes!

Things are getting busier at the Tire Rack Street Survival International HQ this week! A typical up and down week. We gained a couple of new schools but we lost our 1st one of the year. We've got 2 schools tomorrow.

The King of Consistency, past Circle of Excellence award winner (class of 2017) Larry Engel opened his 1st of 2 schools for his New Jersey Chapter BMW CCA. They will be saving lives in Mahwah, NJ again in June! Thanks Larry, Ross, Jeff and the rest of the team. 👏👏

The Hoosier Chapter of the BMW CCA is rising up from the depths and joining in on the fun again. Kash Abdul-Rahman emailed saying to open a school for early August outside of Indianapolis. Their last school was back in the dark days of Covid in '22. Great to have you all back! This will qualify for +1=2x$ dollars. 👏👏

Sadly we lost our 1st school this week. A new host, the 1st Setters Region of the PCA had a school scheduled for mid-May and had too few students to make going forward possible. As a reminder, the National office sets no minimum of students to host a school. I've personally facilitated numerous single digit schools but site rental and other expenditures sometimes makes it not feasible. We understand. Phil Grandfield says they will look and try again, hopefully still this year. Thanks all! 👏👏👏

Speaking of expenditures, Steve Stepanian our lead for the LA Chapter BMW CCA just passed on a quote for a parking lot he was pursuing in Anaheim, $12,500 for 8 hours! He decided to pass.

I've been corresponding with a Assistant Principal of a high school outside of Atlanta. He emailed me saying that he got a "voicemail from Adrian" last month about using their parking lot for a Street Survival school. We went back and forth about a dozen times answering questions he had. This went much farther than normal. I finally came clean saying I didn't know who Adrian is since I didn't know if they were representing the BMW, Porsche or SCCA clubs. He didn't save the VM and didn't write down who he was with. Hey Adrian, if your out there in the ATL, let me know. I think I've got a venue for you.

🚗 Last Weekend’s Action -

The DelVal Chapter BMW CCA hosted their annual school. They started hosting in 2006. This was the 1st of 4 in the Philly area. JR Fisher leads the Team. He won the Volunteer of the Year award in 2020. He runs schools for both the DelVal BMW Chapter and the Philly Region SCCA. When you combine these 2 hosts you are over 50 schools in their history. Thanks to all!! 👏👏

The MoHud Region of the SCCA hosted their 22nd school at the Saratoga Auto Museum in Saratoga Springs, NY They have been doing that for 15 years. They started helping save lives back in 2011. I was at the 1st school at the local airport and they then moved to the Museum location. Matt Fraley led leading the charge of this very experienced crew. Strong work all!! 👏👏

🚗 This Weekend’s Action -

Charles Tashiro will kick off the day Saturday, by nature of the time zones, with his Indianapolis Region of the SCCA hosting their annual event at the Lincoln Tech College. This is the 3rd in a row at that location. Looks like a prefect day with a high of 72 degrees! Thanks to all involved!! 👏👏👏👏

Lenny Zwick and the Hill Country Region of the PCA will finish up the weekend for us in Austin, well technically Kyle TX. This is their 12th school in their 10 years of hosting for us. The high temp in Indy is where they will start out and go up to 88 as the high. Keep them hydrated Lenny! 👏👏

🔺 Let's remember why we are doing this folks:
56 teens have died this week since the last time you read this update!

Many have said that Street Survival is the most rewarding thing you can do in a car club. Everyone knows a teenager—a family member, neighbor, co-worker—who needs this program. You’ll be sharing the road with them. Let's make them safer to make you safer!

💬 And Now This .........

from a recent in-class survey, What did you like best? -

The material covered is definitely on the spot, but I love the people- the instructors and coaches. Experienced, knowledgeable and so easy to talk to. Great mentors! Sarah S.

Enthusiasm plus kindness of all the instructors! It is so nice because most of all the kids are so nervous, whether they show it or not. Sam C.

that's why we do it folks!!!

Let's see some smiling faces! SEND US PICTURES PLEASE!! Candid shots of your students interacting with each other, their parents, checking tire pressures, sitting in class.....
