NOKA Homestead

Time to pickle! I was introduced to pickled garlic spaces during my first farming internship at Persephone Farm out in Washington in 2007, and I've been hooked ever since. Crisp, spicy, and bright, they are so delicious - and one of my favorite yearly traditions. Recipe linked below.

The produce in this week's share endured 25 degree nights and 90 degree days, a May 30th frost, no rain, torrential rain. Hey, so did the farmers who grew it! That alone seems like cause for celebration! Without further ado,

CSA Week One: spinach, head lettuce, green onions, radishes, cilantro, heirloom dry beans, a basil start, and a canvas NOKA bag to tote it all around in. Veggie Lovers shares also received arugula, kale, and asparagus. The Homesteader's Add-On Share: maple pecan granola with maple syrup tapped from our trees.
