GROTON TOWN COUNCIL BEGINS STUDY OF $122 MILLION BUDGET PLAN FOR 2011/2012 THAT INCREASES TAXES AN ALARMING 10%

The Day - | News from southeastern Connecticut Groton - After hearing from about 25 taxpayers on the proposed $122 million town budget for 2011-12, the Town Council this week began its scrutiny of the plan.

This could be a great first step to fiscal sustainability for our town and many others like it.

Groton does not have to establish a permanent office for climate change to understand that if we do things like install new, top of the line windows to prevent energy loss or to utilize solar panels to produce electricity would reduce Groton's carbon foot print. Lets use common sense.
