What a great day!

We had over 100 people, of all ages, come through our Touch a Truck Event today.

Intergenerational Programing is so beneficial to the community and this is one of our favorites.

Thanks to everyone who came out!

Sending big thanks to Groton Center volunteer and Eagle Scout hopeful, Abishek Sharath!!

The Groton Center has a very robust vegetable garden with active volunteers who plant, maintain and harvest the food to be given to Groton Center members and used in Senior meals.

The raised beds that Abishek has planned, raised funding for and built, will allow for more inclusive gardening for people with mobility differences.

We are so grateful for Abishek’s hard work and continued volunteerism for The Groton Center.

Nearly 12 million Americans are providing unpaid care for loved ones living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, totaling more than 18 billion hours of care each year, according to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Caregiving can take a real toll:
* 70% of caregivers report feeling stressed
* 27% experience symptoms of depression
* 30% are over the age of 65 themselves

Caregiving is meaningful, but it’s also hard work. You don’t have to navigate it alone. MADRC’s Road Map to Caregiving booklet offers a comprehensive guide to resources, support, and practical tools to help along the journey. Available in English and Spanish: madrc.org/community/
