Why the 40+% increase in utilty rates?
Groveland borrowed appx. $100.9 million dollars for utility improvements and plans to spend a total of appx. $154.00 million on utility improvements, not one penny went to improving the water quality.
These funds which were approved by your City Council will be primarily used to make certain, “New Development” has water and sewer capacity.
The city did set aside a minimal amount being spent to replace water lines in downtown area, this is only because the EPA and FDEP banned lead and concrete asbestos water lines, and the city is violating federal regulations if the repair these lines without first properly abatement them, and we all know that never happens in Groveland 🤣🤥
The only problem is they are now forcing existing and future utility customers to pay the bill.
Almost forgot, each and every current Groveland water customer gets to pay for ANOTHER new water meter, this highly unusual considering you already pay for one through impact fees the builder included in the cost of home when its was initially purchase.
In every other city in Florida maintenance and replacement of water meters are the Cities responsibility at no charge.
But no so in the “State Groveland”🤣
Where’s the value for the existing customers who are paying the bills?
This is just plain wrong.
What happened to new development paying for new development as the city council is so quick to claim🤥
Folks, it’s time to make a major change in Groveland government.
Where’s the accountability?
Groveland has become a mini Washington DC. and unless you like being taking advantage of day after day its time for a major change, and only you the average voter can correct this wrong.
