Updated Gulf Conditions! As of now we are closing the gulf waters due to rapidly deteriorating conditions. Please note: Within the corporate limits of Gulf Shores, it is ILLEGAL to enter the Gulf when double red flags are flying. Those who enter the Gulf waters when double red flags are displayed will be subject to a fine and possible Arrest.
Friday June 5, 2026- Double red flag conditions continue today in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The Gulf waters are closed! You are welcome to enjoy the beach but remember, when double reds fly, ankle deep is too deep!!! Know before you go!
Checking beach conditions is easy! Before entering the water, please check current conditions in one of the following ways:
* Call 251-968-SURF (7873).
* Visit www.gulfshoresAL.gov.
* Text “ALBEACHES” to 888-777 to receive daily beach conditions via text message.
