Toxic patterns often begin as survival strategies. People-pleasing, hyper-responsibility, emotional shutdown, chronic self-doubt, or difficulty with boundaries may have once helped someone adapt to an unsafe or emotionally unavailable environment.

Healing generational trauma is not about blame. It is about awareness, nervous-system safety, self-compassion, and choosing not to pass pain forward.

I am honored and excited to share that I have been nominated President-Elect of the Illinois Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling.

For more than a decade, I have had the privilege of working alongside children, adolescents, and families, helping them navigate challenges and build resilience. As an LCPC, practice owner, and co-founder of the Lake County Care Collective, I am deeply passionate about expanding access to quality mental health care, supporting fellow clinicians, and advocating for the unique needs of young people.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this incredible community of professionals and look forward to collaborating with colleagues across Illinois to strengthen our profession, promote clinical excellence, and advance the well-being of children, adolescents, and families.
