This June 5th marks the 45th anniversary of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Actually, on June 5, 1981, a publication of the CDC’s first report on the virus was released. While the anniversary commemorates a devastating history that has claimed 45 million lives globally, it highlights remarkable medical breakthroughs, with modern treatment turning the virus into a highly manageable, chronic condition.

Budgets get reduced and clinics close, but just because prevention programs get cut doesn’t mean that HIV disappears. This is about access, education, consistency, and breaking stigma. We can’t afford to go backward.

On Monday May 11th we were “outside, outside” providing free HEPATITIS and HIV testing. Thank you to Englewood Health Department for having us!! Teamwork makes the dream work. 💙
