On World Day of Migrants and Refugees, we honor the courage and resilience of migrants and refugees around the globe. In 1914, Pope Pius X created this day as a direct response to the growing number of migrants in Europe who were seeking asylum and better living conditions. Over a century later, with so many people still searching for sanctuary and a better life, is more relevant than ever.
