Late June dump and hard launch into summer after a LONG school year, pushed out until June 17th because of snow days 😮‍💨).

I’m notoriously bad at transitions, but since summer is my absolute favorite season, I’m so happy we’re finally into it and settled into our cottage along the shore. Parenting feels different this year—easier??—with our oldest having a little bit more freedom to run around with his friends and our youngest thrilled to have all the attention focused on her most days.

After dealing with a crashed-out ferritin in April and May, I’m so happy to feel like a completely different human, and I’m absolutely loving some of the training changes mario fraioli and I have been playing with. Still trying to figure out what happened with my iron with my doc + RD, but feeling dangerously excited about the next 6 months. 👀

What a wild ride the past 4 months have been. I left 2025 feeling broken, depressed, and confused about a lot of things in life. I’ve spent this year focused on my mental health, holding my friends and family close, and figuring out if I actually love running.

Spoiler: I do. And sometimes you just need to feel unrecognizable to yourself in order to rewrite exactly who you are.

I ran most of this 5k scared of blowing up, but with a mile to go, let myself throw down and have a little fun. Maybe the most effortless and fun 5k I’ve ever run in my life. 🥹

This was confirmation that there’s a lot more to give, but it really doesn’t get better than this. So soaking this in…and then it’s back to work. 🐅
