Fire departments battle Hamilton house fire Hamilton Fire Department and two other area departments are responding to a structure fire at a home in the 400 block of Belle Avenue between Elmo and Noble avenues.

The annual Hamilton Firefighters Draw Down benefiting MDA is tomorrow night. We would like to send a big thank you to all our sponsors who help make this event happen each year. The proceeds raised from this event go directly to the individuals and families of those suffering with this life altering disease.

All tickets have been sold into the drawing but you can pay at the door to enter the event. All food and beverage is provided with your entry.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night for another great event for MDA.

The West Entrance of the PFAC Building is closed due to construction. Everyone will need to park in the top lot behind the school and come through our Student Commons area.

As of 4 p.m. E26 Driver Rusty “The Prince” Schindler will have completed is final shift after 36 years of dedicated service with the Hamilton Fire Department.

Rusty’s leadership was defined by his character. Throughout his career, he earned the respect of his brothers and sisters by consistently leading through example. He mentored younger members, supported his crew, and left the department stronger than he found it.

Rusty was a strong advocate for the union mission with IAFF Local 20. Serving in multiple positions as an Executive Board member and Chairman of our Charity Committee. He understood the principles and that represented IAFF Local 20 and was always a valued voice for members both on and off the job.

Today, we recognize Rusty on his accomplished career and a well-deserved retirement. Wishing him health, happiness, and many great years ahead with his family.
