North Topsail PTA

Tonight was a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together.

Parents, teachers, administrators, community members, the Board of Education, and the Board of County Commissioners came together with a shared commitment to our students and staff. Through collaboration and dialogue, an agreement was reached to bridge the funding gap for Pender County Schools and prioritize the needs of those who learn and work in our classrooms every day.

While this is an important step forward, perhaps the most meaningful outcome is the foundation that was established for continued communication, partnership, and advocacy. Tonight demonstrated that when we listen to one another and focus on what is best for children, progress is possible.

This work is not finished. Moving forward, there is a renewed commitment to work together in advocating to the North Carolina General Assembly for sustainable, long-term funding solutions that support public education and help our schools thrive.

Thank you to everyone who spoke up, showed up, and remained engaged throughout this process. Our students deserve nothing less.
