As part of our doctoral psychology internship program, clients are able to see our clinicians in training at a heavily discounted rate. Doctoral psychology interns are very well trained, supervised by licensed experts, and are in the final stages of training before licensure. Our own Terence Ching, M.S., is a psychology intern who is very well experienced in helping people with anxiety and other difficulties with mood and well-being. Terence has completed clinical training in a variety of settings, including in-person and online individual and group psychotherapy for adults and adolescents at the University of Connecticut Psychological Services Clinic, the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Institute of Living in Hartford, CT, as well as the Behavioral Wellness Clinic in Tolland, CT. Terence approaches psychotherapy from an evidence-based and culturally attuned perspective, and specializes in cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) for fear-, uncertainty-, and trauma-based disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, and PTSD. Terence has also received training in functional analytic psychotherapy (FAP), as well as MDMA-assisted psychotherapy. Terence believes in his clients’ intrinsic ability to achieve insights and enact behavioral change according to CBT principles, especially when supported in a holistic and sensitive manner that respects and integrates clients’ values, beliefs, and learning and cultural histories.
