Had an opportunity to see the 1/4 scale Wall of Sound today. Shout out to Anthony at Le Petit Mur De Son - Mini Wall of Sound for building this amazing piece. Can't wait to see the 1/2 scale someday, and if all goes well, maybe he will build a full scale replica someday!

After a year of finding parts, having a pickup rewound, and having it converted to a 5 string, it's safe to say this mahogany body T-40 is finally done.

Factory birdseye maple neck with repaired bilaminate split and fretboard refinished with an oil finish.

High output prototype pickups made for the Atlanta Rhythm Section bassist. One rewound by Tom Brantley.

Custom 5 string conversion inspired by late Peavey engineee Ronnie Goss, using 5 one-string bridges installed on the factory bridge plate. Custom bone nut, relocated string tree, and matching guitar tuner for the G string. Still fits in the factory case. String spacing is close to a modern Ibanez 5 string. 15-16 mm spacing I think.

New wiring with Emerson Pro volume pots and CTS J taper tone pots for the correct variable coil split curve. Funky vintage wax paper tone capacitors from my friend Derrick Cook who previously owned this bass.

Chip Todd may no longer be with us, but his impact on the musical community will be lasting. RIP.
