The Rock And Go Morning Show

One year.

It was exactly one year ago, July 26, 2024 that I did my last show on the radio. I hung up the headphones, and began embarking on the next chapter of my life. Three days later I began the police academy, and since then, haven't looked back. As I write this, I'm currently sitting in a police car, looking for speeders (not going to tell you where 😉) and looking back on the first year of being a police officer. It's been a change of pace for sure...but a change for the better. Im having fun, enjoying the job, meeting a lot of people, working with a fantastic department, and actually enjoying going to work. Some days are longer than others, but I wouldn't change it for anything.

Do i miss my past life? No. Not in the slightest. I sometimes miss the intersections with listeners, but I don't miss the job itself. Near the end (the last three years) it wasn't fun anymore. Ownership made the act of getting up in the morning a chore, and I didnt like what I was becoming, they took an almost 35 year passion for radio away in a very short time. Im still convinced they don't know what the word "rock" means.

Now, I'm with a great organization, great people, and actually enjoy my job. Here's to the next year, or two, or five, or ten...

Until then, slow down coming into Hanover, and hope to see you at some point. Keep rockin'! Hope you are all doing well.
