McFall Portrait Studio

This one started pretty rough, but I’m pleased with the finished product. This is the first drawing I’ve done with the Faber-Castell Pitt Graphite Matt pencil set, and the darkest I’ve ever been able to get without using charcoal and without making it shiny. Unless something better comes along, I don’t think I’ll use anything else!

It’s been weeks since I’ve had time to pick up a pencil, but new stuff is in progress. This is about one square inch. Tough to retain much detail. Parts of this have been darkened with a 6B. I can’t wait until I get to use my new 12B for the deepest shadows!
