🐝 Happy National Be Nice to Bugs Day!

One of the requirements for the Environmental Science Merit Badge is to slow down, observe, and record what’s happening in a local ecosystem. For our Scouts, that meant pulling up a chair next to our pollinator garden and watching which insects visited each flower.

National Be Nice to Bugs Day was created to raise awareness about the critical role insects play in healthy ecosystems. They pollinate many of the plants we rely on, recycle nutrients by breaking down organic matter, and provide food for countless other wildlife species.

Sometimes the best way to learn about nature isn’t by collecting it. It’s by sitting quietly and letting nature come to you. 🌼🐝🕷️
