July 4th I will be staying local and putting together a display and a presentation for Lebanon County 250!

It has been a pleasure to work with them throughout the school year and it’ll be a great opportunity to share and display history!

Come find me!

Being able to bring my two oldest girls to events has become more than a dream come true for me - It’s pure joy!!

I am sure there will be days that they like it less but so far they love reenacting with me and seeing the sites!

To really illustrate that I have to use the words that my wife wrote for a recent grad classes for children’s lit.

Written in the perspective of Libby.
For more clarity, we use Wool diapers for our baby 😅

“The creak of the stairs gives me away as the heads turn to gently remind me to go back to sleep. "We have a busy day tomorrow" he says. He sits in the middle of the floor, cross legged, the fabric sprawled to the side and his fingers moving quickly with the needle. "I'll have this finished by then. Go to sleep." I turn around and trudge back up the steps. Tomorrow.

"Wake up Liberty. Wake up Skye." My eyes flicker open and I see Dad's face over mine. He has a big smile and he's dressed in his frilly white shirt with the green coat that kind of smells like the diapers that Darcy wears or the sheep at the farm. The smile creeps on to my face before I even realize I woke up.

We're finally at the spot. A really old house with the frozen cat that sits in the second floor. The porch is a wide open plain, ready for running and tea parties, and playing tag with my sister. Dad's fingers move quickly to tie the back of my fancy new dress. It has stripes and goes to the ground and it makes me like Dad. I get to go with Dad when he leaves early in the morning and talks to lots of people. The people are arriving now. "I'm a re-enactor," I tell them. "Like my Dad," I tell them. Dad talks about old games to play. He describes how he made our outfits. He says our ancestors fought in the war. He says Mom's ancestor came from Scotland. He was taking care of sheep. He says we like to play with his coffee pots and pretend to host a tea party. He says the people should look at whatever they would like. I watch and learn from Dad.

The next group of people come on to our home of a porch. I will tell them this time. I will talk about the old times. I will tell them about how people my age had to help take care of things at the home. I will tell them that people made their own clothes. I will them how our family came to this country a long time ago. I will tell them how it's important to remember. I will tell them that it is important to remember where we come from. That it is important to remember our ancestors. That it is important to remember what we have fought for. That we have fought to be free. That we have fought to be able to have our own thoughts and talk about them. I will tell them about the old fabrics. I will tell them about the hat on my head. I will tell them about the people that did not have a voice hundreds of years ago.

History is alive. I will share my breath and give it life and share it with everyone around me.”

If you and your loved ones wanna join the hobby of living history please feel free to reach out and I’ll be sure to help as best as I can!

Shameless plug.

Hi All!

For folks interested in supporting me and the growth of my program there is an easy way of doing so through Buy Me a Coffee!

Even if it’s just the amount so I can buy a cup coffee along the way to an event, it would go greatly appreciated!

Cheers!
