Two Newark City Council members mull cutting federal funds already promised to Community Drop-In Center - The Reporting Project - Covering Licking County, Ohio The center on W. Main Street, operated primarily by volunteers, gives unhoused residents and others relief from extreme temperatures such as in deep winter and the recent heat wave.

July 4th 2026. Another amazing holiday in the books serving 101 friends. Even though it was very hot, we had the most amazing volunteers show up, and the most amazing Community drop off some of the best food. Shout out to the lady who brought 150 hamburgers and buns, pasta, salad, ice and so much more. Each week we ask and the community comes through. We could not do this without our community and that is what America is about.
Thank you to our volunteers those that show up every week and those that show up when they can. Thank you to dude charity for bringing the ice pops, socks, hygiene and other supplies. We also appreciate the continued monetary support.
