Two inches of cushioning on EVERY side. Not just the top. Boxes get dropped on corners, not lids.

Double-box anything breakable. Small box inside a bigger box, cushion between them. It's a suspension system for grandma's dishes.

Tape in an H pattern — one strip down the seam, one across each edge. Top AND bottom. A single strip of tape is a promise the box won't keep.
