Make-A-Wish Montana has issued a Beardies challenge to our colleagues in Vermont.

“We saw the Vermont Beardies contestants online and your beards look pretty good, for an Eastern state, but I think we’ve got you beat and I’m willing to bet a case of Montana bison steaks on it,” Montana CEO Doug Koester told his Vermont counterpart, Jamie Hathaway.

In response, Make-A-Wish Vermont recruited their bearded celebrity spokesman, the original Most Interesting Man in the World, Jonathan Goldsmith, who said in a video statement, “We’ll take that challenge and Vermont will bet one case of maple syrup that Vermont’s best beard will prevail. Beard on, Montana.”

We'll have five categories: Best Moustache, Best Partial Beard, Best Full Beard, Most Creative Freestyle Beard and Most Creative Craft Beard (for all those who are facial hair challenged).

Are you ready for the Beard Competition at the Red Ants Pants Music Festival? This Saturday at 11:15am.

This is the first event of the day, so make sure to get up early to start brushing out your beard, styling up your moustache, or creating your Craft Beard.

The Beard Team will be registering people Friday night and right before the competition Saturday morning to compete.
