One of my clients called me about his "girlfriend" he had met online. "She" was having trouble getting to the U.S. and wanted some help in finding her so he could go and get her. I explained it was a scam and even went to the website where all of the lines listed in his emails were shown. I explained that his "girlfriend" was sitting in a coffee shop in Nigeria and was, in all probability, a man.

He didn't want to hear it even after I showed him the scammers website. There was always some excuse...she was having problems getting a Visa, she had been in an accident, she had lost all of her money, etc, etc. He kept sending her money each time. He had sent "her" $40,000 and was about to send her more when I spoke to him.

The ACFE group (fraud examiners) posted the article below. One hundred women had been duped out of over $7 million from these fraudsters. If you know of anyone in this situation please pass this article on to them and tell them to stop. Have them contact us so we can investigate. It could save them a lot of money and grief in the long run.

One woman Dr. Phil had on his shop had sent one of these men $250,000 and still did not want to hear it was a scam even after Dr. Phil sent investigators to investigate in person.
