The new National Electric Code (NEC) 2023 has some great news for electricians in California. You can now use one circuit to supply two electric vehicles (EVs). The NEC 625.40 code specifies the addition of an Energy Management System (EMS) to ensure that the circuit is not overloaded. Fortunately, the simpleSwitch 240 meets these requirements and eliminates the need for an additional circuit installation.

In addition to following the NEC 2023 code, electricians in California must ensure that all devices are UL approved and CEC approved. Furthermore, heating and hot water circuits cannot be interrupted during installation.
