Rising Star Music Fund

Amazing but we're into the 12th year of our Rising Star Choir program. Through the pandemic, a poor economy, and a recent bout of covid we have survived.

When I attended a fundraiser benefiting autistic children I learned from many parents at this event the many challenges and extreme financial stress they face. Wanting to establish an organization incorporating children and music I came up with the concept of the Rising Star Choirs for special needs children. Rule #1 was that there would be NO CHARGE to the families, giving the families the opportunity to engage the children in music therapy at no cost. I took this idea to Ron Borczon at CSUN and the rest, as they say, is history. Today we have two choirs at CSUN and a third at Belmont University in Nashville.
