Building Practical Skills for Career and Life

This spring, Norm Lein's students at the Senior High School began reviewing building plans to build a shed for a local Henrietta resident. Students were shown how to build the shed in a similar fashion to how a house would be built. They learned about creating the floor and walls, as well as roof framing. They laid down roof shingles and attached the vinyl siding in class. Working together, they made custom doors and a ramp for a lawn mower to be stored inside. Students also added shelving and painted the floor. It was wonderful way to learn new skills and practice them in a hands-on fashion.
