Success! Back in business! This 20 min job saved this client from buying a new chainsaw. As you can see in the pictures The blade tensioner gears stripped out and needed the assembly replaced. Did you know that once the blade is tight with the tensioner screw, the two bolts finish tightening the blade as you secure the bar, so there’s no need to overtighten the screw risking striping the gears? If not, you do now. Also never begin a job with dull blades. Dull blades add stress on the clutch as well as your pocket book.

Had this tractor come in with the blades not engaging. A lot of lawn mowers fail due to simply not cleaning, maintaining, and lubricating on a regular basis.
