CVCC Law Enforcement Training

Ethics for Detention Officers is the current block of instruction for DOCC Class 30.
Lt Wagner is the instructor for this topic. Ethics, morals and professionalism will be discussed in depth and the cadets will be given ethical dilemmas to discuss.

The graduation ceremony was held tonight for Class 84. With friends and family in attendance, we celebrated the achievements of this great group of law enforcement officers.
The Conover Police Honor Guard presented the colors to begin the ceremony. Hickory Mayor Hank Guess delivered the keynote speech reminding the cadets to maintain a high level of integrity and treat the citizens as they would expect to be treated.
Awards were presented to the following cadets: Fi****ms: Austin Fry; Driving: Stewart Simmons; POPAT: Heath Bentley; Academic: Bryce Whinnery. The Stacy Speagle award for the highest grade on the state exam was presented to Bryce Whinnery.
The ceremony concluded with a badge pinning ceremony and inspirational words from Director Walker.
We wish the cadets continued success throughout their careers!

Class 85 cadets are on the mats today for “Compliance & Control Techniques.”
During this 40 hour block of instruction the cadets will learn proper search and handcuffing techniques, weapon retention, defensive tactics and compliance skills.
