We joined the efforts to help our officers stay hydrated by making a delivery to the police department of Gatorade and other items. We thank the High Point Police Citizens Academy Alumni Association for also providing beverages. Letโs all have a safe week!

Whether you have children at home or not, many of you are sharing fatherly advice on the daily to those who you interact. You invest in schools and programs too. Thank you. Some are new dads this year while others added to their family. Some will soon be empty nesters and arenโt sure how you feel about sending baby girl to college. Youโre dads concerned for others children and yours too. You are dads working today and excited to get home to your children. Happy Fatherโs Day!
We may be biased but we laughed at these fun dad jokes!

As we celebrated with the state when the Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup this week, we began looking at the team as a whole. In law enforcement, in order to bring justice to crime or help the Medical Examiner determine natural cause of death or other matters, there are many players on the team. Crime Lab or Forensics is a big teammate. When we say we support the High Point Police Department, every team member is included. Thank you, Forensic Team, for all you do!

Back the Blue doesnโt mean that if you back law enforcement then youโre against another.
It means we support the men and women who choose to serve and protect our community.
It means we hope the community will aid them in sharing information, calling 911, or contacting Crime Stoppers which will help make our area more safe and bring justice to victims.
It means we care.
So, here it is Monday and itโs hot and we are backing the blue and grateful for each person serving well.

HIGH POINT, N.C. (June 5, 2026) โ Detectives with the High Point Police Departmentโs Traffic Unit need the communityโs help to identify the driver and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a five-year-old boy.
Shortly before 5 p.m., High Point 911 received a call about someone lying in the road near the intersection of E. Russell Avenue and Hines Street. The High Point Police Department, the High Point Fire Department and Guilford County EMS responded to the scene. They found a five-year-old boy who had been hit by a car. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.
The driver left the scene, but investigators believe the suspectโs vehicle is a gray Ford Focus or Ford Fiesta, possibly from model years 2012-2018. Anyone with information is asked to call 336-883-3224 or contact Crimestoppers of High Point by downloading the P3 Tips app or calling 336-889-4000.
โThis is a heartbreaking tragedy that has forever changed the lives of a family and impacted our community. A five-year-old child lost his life, and the person responsible made the decision to leave the scene rather than stop and help,โ said Chief Curtis Cheeks III. โTo the driver involved, I am asking you to do the right thing. Accidents happen, but the choices we make afterward define our character.
โOur investigators will continue to pursue every lead and use every available resource to identify those responsible. However, there is still an opportunity for the driver to come forward and take responsibility for their actions. I urge anyone with information, and especially the individual involved, to contact law enforcement immediately.โ
