๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿ”ฅ Food Without Limits โ€“ Week 2 Challenge! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿฒ

This week kicked off the second week of our Food Without Limits Cooking Series, and the competition was heating up! Three teams faced off in a friendly crockpot cooking challenge featuring this week's menu item: Rotel.

Each week, our instructor prepares the featured meal while the teams create their own unique rendition. To complete the meal, the instructor also prepares side dishes. This weekโ€™s special side was a delicious Mexican Street Corn Dip that paired perfectly with the teams' creations!

Fresh ingredients, herbs, spices, and everything needed to create a winning dish were provided. Teams had their choice of ground beef, ground turkey, seasoned turkey, Italian sausage, cilantro, cream cheese, milk, fresh onions, multi-color bell peppers, jalapeรฑos, and a variety of seasonings.

Hereโ€™s what each team created:
๐ŸŒถ๏ธ Red Team โ€“ Spicy Rotel with cilantro
๐Ÿ– White Team โ€“ Half Italian sausage and half ground beef Rotel
๐ŸŒฎ Black Team โ€“ Taco Rotel

After cooking, everyone had the opportunity to sample each dish and score the competition. The results were incredibly close!

๐Ÿ† 1st Place: White Team โ€“ 70 points
๐Ÿฅˆ 2nd Place: Red Team โ€“ 69 points
๐Ÿฅ‰ 3rd Place: Black Team โ€“ 68 points

With only a two-point difference between first and third place, the competition was fierce this week!

Congratulations to Victoria and Ms. Barbara of the White Team for taking home this week's prize: a Cast Iron Combo Cooker! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to High Point Food Alliance for sponsoring the Food Without Limits Cooking Series through grant funding. Their investment in food education, nutrition, and hands-on culinary experiences is helping participants build confidence in the kitchen, explore new ingredients, and strengthen healthy cooking habits. We are incredibly thankful for their support and commitment to expanding food access and education in our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and brought their creativity, teamwork, and cooking skills to the challenge. We can't wait to see what next week's competition brings!
